We eat 100% local for 26 weeks of the year. Everythng we eat comes from the Elmwood Bidwell Farmers Market. It's easy

Loved this summation of your work in Pembroke, NY. Back in the 80's as well, I was employed by Kreher's Eggs Family Farms in Clarence, NY. I worked in the collecting room and processing. just because I lived close by and needed a job. Needless to say, I did smell like a farm girl at the end of my shift. One day, the boss asked me if I could drive tractor. I still can't. You do have a way with words, Mr. Galarneau.

I follow the EWG (Environmental Watch Group)'s recommendations on what one should buy organic and what is safe to buy conventional. Unfortunately I just can't find enough locally produced organic fruits and vegetables offered.

Did you know that Thorpe's and Native Offerings - both certified organic farms - offer subscriptions to their produce? Community supported agriculture (CSA) programs are farm subscriptions.
